Wk3 Algebra F/Up

Task description :

Today's slide presentation, I focused on finishing off this slide that was about Algebra F/Up. The alphabets represents and is almost a replacement for the ___ which is yet to be known if u figure it out. As an example : 12 + x = 18. The replacement for the x is 6, therefore the equation has now changed into a 12 + 6 = 18. That's how you basically do it! It was fun to work out. 

Interpret graphs.

 

Task description :

Yesterday in Maths, I did this slide that was about Graphs. It was interesting. It was difficult, but fun at the same time, because I learnt how to make Graphs, along with knowing how to figure out the range, median, and mean.

Reading goal.

      II-- Reading Goal --II

My reading goal for this week is to understand, and read thoroughly more words to understand the meanings. 

I also wanna be able to pronounce words correctly and fluently! Pronunciation of words I don’t really know is quite hard, which could make me stop halfway through and try to scan on it’s meaning and pronounce it correctly. 

That’s why I would like to learn more words as another goal for reading. 

One of the hardest platforms for me is the part where you have to stop and try to understand, it makes me stutter if it’s in front of an audience. So at the moment I’m also going to focus on my confidence when I read!

This could be a slow process to go through, but I will still try my best so I could improve more skills in different areas from reading. ( Spelling, Pronunciations, etc. )

 

Writing goal.

My main goal for this week  is to try to learn more vocabulary so I could use them in my writing, and also understand the definitions of each word. It could be hard, but I’ll still try to make use of my time, in order to understand it.

I’m also gonna try to imitate a writer, and get some inspirational words online. Being able to read is also really important, so I would also like to improve my reading skills so I could read and scan through after my writing. 

This week I would also like to focus on my work, and not get distracted by the people beside me, and try my hardest to finish my writing tasks as fast as possible. 

That’s my goal for this week, and I deeply hope that I succeed through these goals I'm currently focusing on.

Valerie Adams.

Valerie Adams is an independent woman, who competed in the Olympics while representing New Zealand. Sadly her Mum passed away beside her, due to cancer. While watching the Olympics it inspired her to become an Olympian to make her mother proud in the late 2000’s. 

It inspired her to train her hardest out, in order to compete ahead in the Olympics. She was made fun of, and was called names such as “ Bigfoot” which affected part of her life, but she chose not to believe in those lies and continue.  She also has a well-known brother named Steven Adams for his talents in the Basketball. As she competed in the Olympics last time she unfortunately lost, but her image and popularity increased shortly after losing and crying in an interview. But suddenly  nine days after the Olympics the winner who won was then caught for violating some of the strict rules. So she took the place as the winner!

Yesterday, I finished another slide presentation in Te Reo Maori ( Rotations ). I learned new words yesterday, and was really fun to learn!

In my personal opinion, student’s should be able to wear different clothes apart from uniforms. And here’s why!

Wearing uniforms would be uncomfortable for student’s, and could waste parents' money. And by wasting money it would’ve been included in the rent. Not wasting money is the best way of saving money.

If we were allowed to wear different types of clothes, we would be able to express our styles and ourselves comfortably. 

Uniforms are expensive. The average cost of uniforms in the USA is $100 plus up, depending on the material and quality. I would prefer to not waste money on uniforms.

Students may be able to slowly lose their self-identity due to wearing uniforms. I’ve done some research, and it could possibly also ruin students' confidence, and cause poor treatment.

This is why, I personally believe that school uniforms do not help with students aspect of their life, and could cause them to lose self-expression, and identity of themselves. :')

Task description : Today again, in Literacy I did another presentation which was used against an argument with the other side who had to agree, and we had to disagree, although we sometimes switch roles of being the side who agree. Ms.Setefano is the new teacher who was leading the argument. One important thing I learned today was that Teamwork helps you achieve what your expecting too.

Task description

Today in Te Reo Maori, I worked on a presentation that explains the colours in Maori version. It was really easy, and fun to do! My favourite part was doing the task, since getting pictures online was fun. Anyways feel free to ask any questions!

Term Reflection.

 This term, I learned about speaking out confidently about speeches, and planets. It was really interesting, and fun! We learned about lots of topics. Planets was overall my favourite topic.

I gained lots of facts about each planet that I never knew about, which was really entertaining and made me do more research.

Speeches were another good topic to talk about.

It made students gain more knowledge about some of society's problems. There were different types of them. Another one I learned about is fraction problems. It was pretty hard I must admit, but at the end of each maths session I learned new equation symbols too. Fractions were really hard to understand, which made me gain profits to make more research. We also did Fia fia, I was expecting tiny population of people to view. But there were lots, and was filled to the back. It was nerve-wrecking, but I ended up gaining more confidence when I took my first step on the stage.

My favourite one was the Samoan group, they did there dance with gracefulness and the hands were on time with the beats of the music.

5 Interesting facts ( Dr. Fred )

 

Task description

Yesterday, I read a really interesting book that was based on a true story. The main person on the book was Dr.Fred Hollows, he was a true hero that saved thousands of people around the world that struggled. He was really caring, and was not selfish and was willing to help other people that are suffocating from blindness. Dr.Fred Hollows had a big heart for other people, and countries.

Today in Maths again, I did a presentation that was about understanding time. To be honest the questions were really easy, and was one of the basics. It was kind of entertaining though, check it out!

( He then decided to do a fundraiser by doing a dance to get money in the streets in Los Angeles with a pink bubblegum looking tutu. Other people noticed him, and was sick of his dancing which made them protest against his sickening dance. 

Luckily he raised $1.50 that gave him a shock because he thought he wouldn’t get any money #swag. 

But then unfortunately he died from being too shocked in the streets!.. He looked like this green ogre from this movie with a donkey, but I forgot the name but meh. Fly high, I guess.

Some of you may agree with college tuition threatening students attendance. Today, I will be talking about the platforms of the costs from college that could affect students life. 

Reducing college tuition.

From my previous research students have been struggling with the amount of costs that college has put upon them. Students in college has a part-time job, and house bills that they need to pay. New Zealand is also part of this problem the costs of the  tuition to attend university is really high. Some students has a dream job that they want to achieve, but unfortunately they cannot focus on the path of their dream jobs. 

In conclusion, I really do hope that the government in the U.S.A lowers the costs of college tuition. It really does affect people's lives, including some of the really hard-working students in college.

Another day in Literacy.! Today I worked on a presentation that was about choosing a kiwi kid news and reading it, along with answering the questions in the slide to prove your understanding.

Where superheroes live ( Part 1 ).

Long time ago there were superheroes that used to save the city whenever or wherever there was crime, thus they’ve never showed up again.There was a horrifying incident, and it was when evilness had taken the whole wide world into darkness. Who knows where they are right now.One night my grandfather told me that there are still a lot of superhero “ theories “ they believed, but the whole city didn't choose to believe in them and made a law to stop superheroes and the theories from coming into our world because they were anonymously different from us.

‘I still believe that the law and the choices that everyone made in 1972 was wrong and was not right. 

( 2012 ) ‘I work in a little studio that has a lot of old books and old disc songs.

Everyday after school, I usually wait in the cashier's place of the studio and wait for a customer, even though there’s no customer that usually makes the top bell on the door ring.. Finally someone turned up into the studio and wanted to see if there's any books about what happened in the most vicious year. 

I simply stood up straight away with an excited expression on my face. 

'He looked really weird though.

 He wore a black cape with a mask, black outfit with a yellow bat sign on his “ costume ” I suppose . The outfit looked really familiar, as if I had seen it before somewhere in the studio.

He then came to me with a bright smile on his face, and got the book he was specifically looking for. 

I heard two footsteps when he walked out of the studio, but the weird thing

about it is when it started to rain he suddenly disappeared, and he was known as the “ unknown guy”

who came. 

One week later there were news reports about an anonymous person that saved four-teen people

from an apartment being on flame. 

My jaws dropped with a shocking expression. 

I then came to a moment of realization, and quickly rushed with a run to the guy who

runs the cameras around the streets, and the studio. Sadly.. I couldn’t get any footage that could be useful to prove that I did saw him when the cold water dripped above from the sky.

Today, I created a presentation along with Tahliyah. It was really fun, and entertaining to do some searching about the Samoan Culture. All the slides are mostly about the Samoan people. There culture is also really pleasing, and mesmerising!

Samoa is a magnificent culture, I must say. Samoan people stick together as a family, and do mostly every activity together, not separately but cooperatively. The country back in the olden days used to include Western. It was called “ Western Samoa '' all the way until 1997, when they decided to change the country's name. Did you also know that Samoa has one one city too in the country?

Mostly birds in the country are the reason why they receive plague, and viruses. I am also concerned about which is the capital of Samoa.? Over time Samoa's population has lowered down due to types of flu that was created by birds, or spread by people. There patterns has a meaningful backstory attached to there ornamentation too.

This procedure is the reason why they’re mentally strong, and brave. Samoa also has their own original food created by themselves. Fa’apapa is one the most flavorful, and delicious edible food that I suggest, so you can also be perceived on how delectable it tastes.

Understanding writing!

Task description

Today in Literacy, I had to work on a Google Drawing that was about an interesting book called " Battle " By Maria Samuel ! Oddly I really liked the book, and the story setting.

 

Experiencing fia fia.

 I myself thinks that the Samoan group did really well with there dancing. The food was also really flavour-full, and delicious. The 'otai was also really delectable, and flavoursome! One item I highlighted was the Samoan senior groups one, as well as their song choices, and their ensemble was spectacular. I also learned how to smile, and some Tongan ta'uolunga dances that can be also included in other dances! The crowd there was packed from the back to the front. I personally think the population of people that was there was over two thousand individuated. Anyways, I look forward for the upcoming fia fia items for next year. I honestly hope that there will be 'otai there once again! :)

Looking forward for Fia Fia.

 I haven't actually participated or experienced any kind of Fia Fia, since there was covid last year. I am also looking forward for multiple performances, that is about to be performed tonight. One main thing I'm actually awaiting for tonight, is the Samoans performance. I honestly really like their song choices! Anyways, I look forward to also performing today with my other friends tonight.

Reflections on last week.

                       Helping the Junior kids!

 Last week, I had to help some kids who needed some help with part of there works! It was a pleasure to work with the kids, and they were smart too. Lending them a helping hand was refreshing, and was a satisfaction. Some of them was also matured which was kind of really surprising to see. Half of the kids needed assistance with blogging, and pasting the link on their finish tasked document. I did manage to show them simple instructions that helped them remember vividly how to copy and paste some of their work into there blog.

Facts about Planets ( Poster ) !!

 

Task description :

Today, I worked on a poster that was mainly about Planets. Each planets has its own interesting fact, and each of them are made out of different types of gases. All the planets is unique itself, which is why mostly   scientists take part to examine each planet for more interesting facts.

Planets. Planets are  similar to the earth, we human-beings are currently living on a planet that is part of the solar system. There are different types of planets that are made out of different types of things. 

There were nine planets in our solar system which was Pluto. Pluto is no longer part of the planets scientists explain.  At the current moment we only have Eight planets. Astronauts also cannot step a foot in Uranus, since it is made out of gas. All the planets in our solar system orbits, and surrounds the sun every single second.

 The moon is also round. The first person who got to step foot on the moon was Neil Armstrong, it was a win for man and a historical moment for everyone. Every single planet rotates 24 hours lively.

Today in Literacy, I worked on finishing of a unfinished task, that was supposed to be finished approximately a week ago. The task I have captured is mostly about Anzac day. Anzac day is a a very important occasion to remember every year. People from New Zealand has fought in war to protect this country, and their families in a field of misery.

Today, I worked on finishing an old presentation I haven't been focusing on lately. This slide presentation was actually an old task I was supposed to finish early when it was lock down. The last slide is empty, because I'm not really confident with writing lyric and singing, although it wasn't optional.

Marshmallow Towers!!

Task description

Last week, we had lots of fun seeing who would have the tallest spaghetti marshmallow tower. In my opinion, the marshmallow towers would've worked if we putted some more effort, and teamwork into it. The actual funny thing was when we planned it, but with a time limit. When we planned it, it came out completely different. We only had to used three things which was tape, marshmallow and spaghetti sticks! The team I was in tried there best to keep the marshmallow in balance. Although we came third, I actually had lots of fun participating in the marshmallow tower challenge!

The sixth sentences were too much, because I couldn't end the text writing without making it make sense with the readers to read. The story is also about a young woman who wasn't convenient about her job, and decided to become what she wants to become like not her parents but her.

Malo e lelei. My name is Alrida, and I come from a small island called Tonga. My favourite sports is basketball, and soccer. My all time favourite food combination is noodles combined with fried eggs, and I'm striving to be a lawyer or a police officer in the future, because I wanna be able to help people if they're experiencing a awful or terrible situation. 

One of my main favourite thing to do when I'm bored is sketch or play around with paint, because it recovers all your stress that you've been overthinking about.The subject I dislike the most, and I'm trying to improve in is Reading, while on the other side the subject I like is writing. 

I also find it difficult to understand, and focus on the main character when reading. I am also the third youngest in the family. My favourite type of movie list to choose from is mostly horror or comedy, but when its night time I don't prefer watching horror movies.
